This is the second time I try a Brunello di Montalcino from the producer Col D'Orcia. The last time vintage was 2010 and now it is the vintage 2012. Col D'Orcia is an organic winery in Montalcino and for the ageing of their brunellos they use large slavonian oak barrels. They keep the wine in barrels for three years before bottling it and they keep the bottles for one year before being sold to the public. It is made of 100% Sangiovese.
The taste is of red currants and black currants with some tobacco and light tannins. Very elegant and very good. Reminds me of the 2010 vintage but a bit stronger. Highly recommended.
